SPEAKING

Chairs in a row ready for a large event.

An inspiring motivational speaker, Barbara has worked with some of the world's leading organisations to inspire transformation through powerful dialogue.

Refreshingly honest and down-to-earth, Barbara encourages individuals and organisations to be open to having difficult conversations in a bid to positively transform their workplace.

She regularly speaks at organisation’s events, public events and conferences. Her talks centre around the areas of leadership, diversity, equity and inclusion and transformation. Here are a few examples of some of the areas she has focused on:

●     Creating an environment where everyone can thrive at work

●     The importance of organisational culture

●     What can the experiences of black leaders teach us all about belonging?

●     Why understanding our differences is crucial for positive conversations around race

●     How black British leaders succeed and why it matters

Barbara’s captivating speaking sessions provide ideas and practical takeaways to spark meaningful discussion.

We had the pleasure of hearing Barbara speak at our event, to mark Black History Month, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly enough. Whilst listening to some pretty hard-hitting stories and challenging subject matters, Barbara kept us all engage with her energy and humour. She did an excellent job of challenging mindsets and encouraging all of us to talk with one another to help reframe our thought processes – it worked.

What is ‘whiteness' and why it matters in your workplace?

During an interactive lecture, Barbara Banda inspired public leaders to create comfortable conversations about race at work and understanding what being more inclusive at work means. During two sessions, one for public leaders, another for Algemene Bestuursdienst,  participants explored the challenges, compromises, struggles and successes that black leaders encounter, and the range of strategies they employ to successfully navigate the white workplace.
